Machinist Apprenticeship Program

Kick start your career in precision manufacturing with the Vista Metals Machinist Apprenticeship Program. This “learn-at-your-own-pace” opportunity provides hands-on experience producing high-performance tungsten carbide preform tools for global industries. You will master the operation of CNC Horizontal & Vertical Lathes, Surface Grinders, and CNC Mills under the mentorship of industry experts.

The Path to Professional Success:

• Starting Rate: From $16.61/hr (commensurate with prior work history and education).
• Rapid Advancement: Successful completion of our 60-day foundational program puts you on the fast track to becoming a Top Rate Machinist, earning $26+/hr.
• Income Potential: Earn over $60,000 annually with consistent overtime opportunities.

Shift Requirements:

• Rotating Shift Schedule: Candidates must be available and willing to work a rotating shift pattern. This schedule is vital for maintaining our global production demands and offers exposure to all facets of our manufacturing operations.

Key Skills You Will Master:

• Technical Blueprint Interpretation: Translating complex 2D schematics into precision-engineered parts.
• Precision Metrology: Utilizing dial calipers to achieve exact tolerances within 0.001".
• Advanced Machine Operations: Safe and efficient operation of CNC lathes, mills, and grinding equipment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Foundational Skills: Knowledge of Basic Mechanical drawings, reading Dials and Scales.
• Professionalism: Excellent communication skills, reliable work habits, and a “safety-first” mindset.
• Preferred: Foundational skills in blueprint interpretation and caliper measurement are preferred; however, we offer comprehensive training for motivated candidates.
• Eligibility: Must be 18+ years of age and able to pass a background check and drug screening.
