After the manufacturing drawings are created and the powder selected, the shaping process begins. The first step is to get the powder in a rough shape by using our hydrostatic press.
The powders are sealed in rubber bags to prevent pressing fluid penetration and then pressed at up to 30,000 PSI. This pressure reduces the rough billet, or round, by approximately 25% of its non-pressed size.
From here the rough shapes enter the shaping departments of Vista.
We also have a Powder Compacting Press that gives us the ability to press near net shape parts in large quantity runs.
